Conversations with Gabriella

A couple amusing conversations with Gabriella:

Today I got some more diapers out of the closet, among them was a swim diaper. Gabriella stripped down and tried to put it on. I tried to explain that that is only for swimming, while having a tug-of-war with the "Nemo" diaper. I let her know that someday we will go swimming and those are the diapers we will take. She headed over and put on her shoes and said "I go swimming with Daddy."

We made cream puffs tonight and weren't going to let her have one. I told her she could have one when she was a big girl. Later I decided she could have the pastry with some cream, minus the chocolate. She lit up and said "I a big girl! I a big girl!"

Gabriella has had a little scrape on her knee that is now the size of a pin head. It distresses her and we talk about her owie and put band-aids on it and show it to others, etc. All the while she had a large goose egg on her forehead that doesn't seem to bother her at all.

Josiah plays UPWARD Basketball

Josiah got to play with his team, the Kangaroos, for the first time this past Saturday (he was sick the previous week and we were gone the week before that). He looks like a natural and seems to be having fun.

Ben is playing Upward Basketball again this year and it was fun to watch him practice tonight, especially the scrimmage when he was sticking tight to the man he was assigned to defend - focused and engaged.

Clowning around - Don't Make me Laugh!

And that's what we were doing - Josiah got to wear the clown nose during a rousing round of Don't Make Me Laugh about two weeks ago.

Not-so-sleepy girl

Today after I put Gabriella down for her nap I could hear her playing in her room. I didn't give it much thought and went about my vacuuming. When she woke up she sounded very sad, and still very sleepy. I went in to find her a bit of a mess. She had taken off one pull-up, tried on some others which were scattered on the floor. She settled on wearing one with both legs through one leg hole and around her waist like a tutu. She appeared to have taken her shirt off, put it on, taken it off and put it on again so it was completely twisted around one arm. She topped this with another shirt, worn like a backpack. She put on a pair of pajama bottoms, but couldn't get them pulled up all the way because of the diaper tutu. She must have decided this was pretty comfy, along with the hardwood floor and decided to sleep there in front of the door. As you can imagine, it was not such a restful situation, and a diaper tutu does not do the trick. So again I am thankful for hardwood floors and am still wishing for an X10 camera for her room. Here is hoping tomorrows nap is far more restful.

Home for sale

Our lovely house on Roosevelt is for sale. Today is the first day of showings, so Kevin and I had a late crazy night and are now hiding out at Todd's keeping our place clean. I did a 3:00am tumble down the stairs, so I am babying my arm with ice and Tylenol while working on report cards as my hard working hubby gets a well deserved nap.

We are praying for a great offer to come in, and for God's leading to our new home. Many thanks to family and the amazing Barkers for helping to get our house ready to show! Here are some photos online.
